The role:

Making the move to Phoenix offers you the exciting prospect of working on major finance systems software releases within a cloud based environment. We are looking for a Release Management Consultant to join our successful Finance & Actuarial Systems (FAS) team, who are guardians of our systems estate. The FAS team are responsible for the design, build, test and implementation of changes to these systems. They ensure the changes made are robust and well controlled, operating a structured Stage Gate process with supporting Governance.

As the Release Management Consultant you will support in bringing control and ensuring there is a structural approach to configuration management and change. This role operates in a mixed working environment with internal software development as well as multiple external software suppliers. We believe this is an interesting and challenging role for the right person who enjoys the blend of technical expertise and business facing responsibilities. You will play a key part in the driving effectiveness by ensuring our Finance Systems are governed by the Release & Configuration Management policy.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Source code management software, using tools such as Subversion.
  • Controlling what developers use on software release, builds and deployments.
  • Managing defects and working with internal stakeholders such as actuaries, business change initiators and internal and external development teams.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience of managing and releasing complex changes. Within a Financial Services environment would be desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of release management and ITIL processes for Change & Release Management.
  • Experience of source code management and configuration. Knowledge of Subversion would be desirable
  • A confident communicator that is delivery focused and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Stakeholder management to both the business (non-technical) and development teams (technical). Proven track record in delivering releases and maintaining calendars, managing risks and dependencies.
