MG-ALFA Team Analyst – 1 year fixed term contract
Making the move to Phoenix offers you the exciting prospect of applying your actuarial knowledge and expertise in a unique setting, with the UK’s largest closed Life and Pension Fund Consolidator and one of ‘Britain’s Top Employers’. We’re industry experts, but we’re always looking for ways to be better. You can help us deliver the best service to our customers by joining our MG-ALFA team.
This is a great opportunity to develop existing skills or kick-start your actuarial systems career. You will work on a variety of projects using our leading edge cloud computing valuation system based around MG-ALFA. These projects will normally be cross-functional and therefore lead to exposure to many types of actuarial work across the various actuarial teams within Phoenix.
Excellent support and training provided under the guidance of a senior member of the team and continual and direct exposure to qualified actuaries.
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for people who are able to work individually and as part of a team on multiple projects in a fast paced / complex environment where delivery has to be timely and accurate.
You will be able to demonstrate:
• experience of using actuarial models in MG-ALFA or MoSes or Prophet, ideally with development experience
• knowledge of UK products (With Profits / Non-Profit / Unitised etc.)
• ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
It will also be very useful if you have knowledge of Asset Liability Modelling
We will also consider applications from you if you have a strong academic record in mathematics and computer programming plus a desire to transfer into actuarial systems. Enhanced training & development support will be available.
Actuarial Study Support may be available subject to negotiation at interview stage.
We value our employees highly and have been one of Britain's Top Employers for the last 6 consecutive years. We are a member of the FTSE 250 index. We put people first in everything we do and are always looking for new professionals to join our talented team. Our funds are closed, enabling us to focus on areas that other businesses can't. This means that, among the many benefits of working at Phoenix (such as free lunches at our onsite restaurant, nature trail walk, putting green, free car parking, subsidised onsite sport facilities including gym, football & cricket pitches, tennis courts, excellent reward schemes….we could go on!), our staff can enjoy exposure to a diverse workload not found elsewhere. We're proud of what we do and we offer excellent training opportunities, career development and company culture.
