The role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to provide expert professional competent advice, guidance and support across the Phoenix Group. You will be responsible for the Health & Safety of circa 4500 employees, contractors and visitors across all sites: You will manage a small team within Health & Safety.  As a subject matter expert you will have accountability for the strategic overview and day to day management of all health & safety matters that arise.  Your responsibilities will include undertaking evidence-based investigations and working closely with key stakeholders across the business. Acting as our in-house expert you will be accountable for ensuring compliance with Construction Design Management (CDM).You will also fully embed our health & safety framework and drive continuous improvement. This role is predominantly based at Wythall with travel to other sites across the Phoenix estate. What we’re looking for: 

  • Someone who is up to the challenge. This is a key role based in our Facilities team but supporting the entire Phoenix Group, so we are looking for experts with significant health & safety experience within a corporate office environment.
  • You will have vast health & safety technical knowledge of legislation, regulation and approved industry codes of practice.
  • Knowledge and experience of Construction Design Regulations (CDM) 2007 and 2015.
  • You will be dealing with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of hierarchy. Therefore strong interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills are required.
  • You will be a lateral thinker, focusing on outcomes as well content.
  • A Health & Safety qualification – e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • High levels of oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Fully conversant PC skills (Microsoft Office).
